With over thirty seven years experience in educational leadership, Nelson Beaudoin brings practical and exciting ideas to the discussion of school reform. He has presented his messages about inspirational leadership, the magic of student voice, personalization and creating a culture of change throughout the country. His faculty's work on Professional Learning Communities, Student-Led Conferences and student engagement has been replicated in a number of schools. His first book entitled, "Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone: Lessons for School Leaders" (Eye on Education, 2005) is a collection of stories about successful education reform. His second book, "Elevating Student Voice: How to Enhance Participation, Citizenship, and Leadership" (Eye on Education, 2005) demonstrates what schools can do to enhance student participation and engagement.  His most recent book, "A School for EACH Student" (Eye on Education, 2008) invites educators to consider the importance of personalizing a student's educational experience at a time when the federal government is mandating standardized education.

Nelson Beaudoin recently retired from the position of Principal at Kennebunk High School in Kennebunk, Maine. Prior to coming to Kennebunk, he was principal of Leavitt Area High School in Turner, Maine. He has been extensively involved in education reform, service learning, student advisories, student led conferences and personalization since the mid nineties. Nelson works under the belief that leaders should listen more than talk, care more than judge, and understand more than guess. This, coupled with his refreshing dedication to kids, makes Nelson Beaudoin someone you should consider when planning your next professional training.
